Truth of the matter is, he has. Multiple times. But he's fairly certain the issue of ownership when it comes to Stark Industries would be dragged out into an ordeal that neither he nor Tony would want to handle, even if he didn't want to take it all back. And unless he sees the kid setting his company on fire-- possibly literally-- he's just not willing to do it.
